Research Assistant
served as a research assistant for Dr. Jeffrey Fynn-Paul's upcoming textbook on medieval Eurasian cities, set to be published by Cambridge University Press. My responsibilities included:
Taking part in a "master class" focused on the medieval urban history of Eurasia.
Compiling a bibliography of works in Arabic and/or Turkish related to medieval cities around the Mediterranean.
Providing a prospectus to assist Dr. Fynn-Paul in navigating the historiography on these subjects.
Potentially contributing additional bibliographical and/or prosopographical work related to The Medieval City project, currently under contract with Cambridge University Press.

Research Assistant Internship
Worked as a research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Nora Lafi:
• Conducted literature reviews in four languages (Turkish, English, Arabic, and Russian) on topics including urbanization, administrative organization, and municipal structures in the Ottoman Empire, late Andalusian history, and the migration of Jews and Arabs from the Iberian Peninsula.
• Compiled annotated bibliographies.
• Translated passages from literature in Turkish, Russian, and Arabic to English.
• Conducted extensive research on Ottoman municipalities and administrative organization in various archives.
• Translated archival documents from Ottoman Turkish to English.
• Participated in every phase of an academic project, from outlining to publishing.
