SEMBOLIC VOILENCE IN TERMS OF GENDER
Taking a sociological and cultural approach to gender equality is often more effective than solely structural efforts. Unequal gender relations are often reproduced, perpetuated, and legitimized through "Symbolic Violence," with the complicity of both its victims and exercisers. This project aims to promote gender equality by empowering young people from different cultures and societies, connecting them, and engaging them in dialogue. Interacting with different societies and cultures provides excellent opportunities to understand the arbitrary nature of gender relations. This will contribute to eliminating gender inequality among young people, the project's target group. To achieve this goal, governmental and nongovernmental organizations from participating universities (Ovidius Din Constanta in Romania, Solution: Solidarite & Inclusion in France, and Embaixada da Juventude in Portugal) will foster a culturally relativistic dialogue and an effective exchange of cultural and social experiences regarding gender relations from different sociological and cultural perspectives.
